Given the rich Czech history in Blinn's service area, these Czech courses provide an important opportunity for many students to connect to their heritage.

CZEC Courses

Blinn is one of the few colleges in the State of Texas to offer Czech language classes for college credit and continuing education.

Spring 2025 Czech Language Courses

CZEC 1472: Beginning Czech II

  • Class Dates: January 13 – May 8, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday – Thursday
  • Time: 7:45 a.m. – 8:50 a.m.

Course Options: Available for both credit and non-credit students.

High School Students: If you want to take Czech as a dual credit course, please contact your school counselor.

High Schools: To offer Czech as a dual credit course, please reach out to Shannon Williford at shannon.williford@blinn.edu or call 979-209-8218.

Credit Students:

  • Attendance at all class sessions is required.
  • Must meet the testing and evaluation criteria outlined by the instructor.
  • A textbook is required.
  • Students must apply for admission to Blinn College to receive credit.

Non-Credit Students:

  • Option to attend live online classes four mornings a week with credit students or watch recorded sessions.
  • Flexible attendance; students can switch between live and recorded sessions as needed.
  • A textbook is required.
  • No testing is required.

CZEC 2372: Intermediate Czech II

  • Class Dates: January 13 – May 8, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday – Thursday
  • Time: 8:55 a.m. – 9:40 a.m.

Course Options: Available for both credit and non-credit students.

Credit Students:

  • Attendance at all class sessions is required.
  • Must meet the testing and evaluation criteria outlined by the instructor.
  • A textbook is required.
  • Students must apply for admission to Blinn College to receive credit.

Non-Credit Students:

Conversational Czech Advanced

  • Class Dates: February 4 – April 8, 2025
  • Schedule: Tuesdays
  • Time: 7 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
  • Cost: $79

Course Details: This non-credit course is offered live online, with recordings of each session available for later viewing.

Yes, a textbook is required for all courses, both credit and non-credit.
